People are Whitman are back to eating out. Abington folks are on the town. Rockland and Hanson are hopping. Retail numbers look good. Car Sales are rising again. Home Sales in the first quarter of 2010 rose 22% on the south shore. As the gains from the last couple of months work their way through the system, I expect that trend to continue. The Pending Home Sales Index has the same prediction.
All thatâs to the good. The strongest key to a recovery: JOBS. In March, Massachusetts Unemployment began a long awaited decline to 9.3%. Official numbers lag a few months behind the times, but that seems to be holding. Good Jobs numbers do equate to confidence & increased spending, which leads to a healthier economy. That increased confidence coupled with a large inventory and low interest rates, say nothing but good things for South Shore Real Estateâs immediate future. Iâm no economist, but, even theyâre saying the next few months look like a steadily brightening forecast for the Massachusetts Real Estate Market.
