The Patriots being in the Super Bowl this season feels like the “Miracle on Ice” to me. Having grown up watching some truly struggling Pats’ teams, I am well-acquainted with seasons that felt like a clinic on how not to play football. After years of disappointment—& I admit, I still haven’t forgiven Tom Brady—I was fully prepared for another difficult “rebuilding year” this time around.
Instead, against hopelessly long odds, they have put together an amazing & genuinely fun season. I have finally started looking forward to the games again; rooting for them is no longer an exercise in embarrassingly forced optimism. Now, in just one incredible season, we have a real chance of seeing the Patriots win another Super Bowl!
I, so very rarely say this, but I will be utterly unavailable this Sunday for work. Surrounded by my family & all my favorite treats, I’ll be drinking in the sweetness of Pregame & hopefully the victorious battle of the Pats winning yet another Superbowl. It’s so nice to be cocky again. 
And the UFL, and my Washington Defenders(coming off winning their “Superbowl” last year), is right around the corner in March. Life is grand.
