Easter is a special Holiday for me. There’s a definite secular aspect to it that everyone can get behind. I love the Easter Bunny’s style. (Yep, That’s me in the bunny suit) 
There’s a heavy Faith component too that I can’t ignore. I think of a Man more mighty than a president, more regal than a king, coming down to earth, making himself human, vulnerable, just like us, so that he could use his own Body as a truly costly sacrifice to save our eternal souls. Whether you believe He’s God or not, that’s pretty special & wows me every time it crosses my mind. Not many other deities in human history sacrificed themselves to benefit us lowly humans.
The following Sunday, just three days later, the same Guy, came back from the dead. Well… He’s God, so no big whoop, right? The thing is: He brought the same promise of Resurrection for all humanity with Him.
Much like every Memorial Day, Every Easter Sunday, I think of absent friends & family, my parents, my brother in law, Sean, and, yes, all my dogs, & most especially, all of my friends & family that have moved on to better things. Easter’s promise is: I will see you all again. That is a huge, recurring comfort. That is belief, not knowledge, so it takes a bit more effort to maintain, but works it’s way far deeper into my soul/self. That promise is what makes Easter Special & brings a wonderful sense of Grace & Peace to me.
Regardless of where my obvious beliefs lie or whether or not you believe the same thing I do… I wish that same sense of Grace & Peace to you all. Secular or religious…Have a wonderful Easter!
